Rules and regulations

The rules and regulations mentioned below will significantly improve the commitment of the Institute and enhance our relationship. If these commitments are adhered to by learners and parents alike, your child will derive maximum benefit from these classes. Ensure for example that your child completes all homework, and that your  child spends at least 15 minutes with the Qura’n everyday, ideally 30 min. The learner must at least memorise 5  lines per week efficiently this amounts to 1 line per day, which is not cumbersome at all.

In addition to the rules and regulations mentioned above learners are also expected to abide by the basic rules mentioned below.

Madrasah Times

The  Madrasah  is  held  every  Saturday  morning  including  school holidays,  unless  prior  arrangements  had  been  made  with  the  co- ordinator. The lessons  begin at 09:30 am. Therefore, please make it possible for your child to be at the  facility 10 minutes before lessons commence so that he/she can settle down. A  student distracts class when he or she comes to class late. Classes end at 12:30 p.m. Parents are kindly advised to make appropriate arrangements to ensure that transport arrangements had been made. We  request that you do not keep your child waiting at the centre. This poses a significant security risk.

Attendance and abscence

Attending the Madrasah regularly and on time is the responsibility of both the parents and the student.

  1. All students must attend Madrasah regularly unless they are out of town,  or    if    there    is    an emergency or an illness. Please do not consider the Institute as secondary or something to be taken lightly. Consider it as a serious commitment; remember if your child is in grade 10 – 12, the likelihood is that he / she may never attend Madrasah again.
  2. Arrange all your other activities and commitments around the madrassah time. In the case of an absent learner please phone the coordinator or provide you child with a letter.
  3. All students must be punctual, as tardiness both disrupts the class and impedes the academic progress of the learner.
  4. All learners are required to attend at least 80% of classes for the year.

Dress code

Islamic dress code must be adhered to by the students and staff male and female without exception. Staff and students  are required  to  wear long pants  with a long
sleeve shirt.  Preferably a thaub with long sleeve. T shirts must not display any faces, animals, etc. which would interfere with salah. Please inculcate modesty in dress and manners for both girls and boys. Transparent and tight-fitting  garments should not be worn when attending the Institute, nor should it be encouraged at home. Clothing at all times should not reveal the contours of the body.

Disciplinary action

To maintain a model Islamic environment and to ensure the safety and well being of all the staff and  students,  it  may be  necessary to  impose  disciplinary action  on  students  who  shun  their responsibilities and/or infringe rules and regulations of the Institute. The disciplinary action will depend on the severity of infraction, the age, and grade of the student. It will be instituted at the discretion of the teacher and/or the Administrator along with the parents, and may include one or more of the following actions:

  1. Verbal warning by the teacher and/or Administrator.
  2. Teacher and/or Administrator contacting the parents.
  3. Calling for teacher – student – parent conference.
  4. Break-time detention with special assignment.

WE are confident that with our policy outline and the amanah that we have jointly undertaken their will be no such incident. Due to human nature differences are bound to occur as far as discipline is concerned.  In  this  regard  we  will  either  allow  some  kind  of  concession  based  on  mutual consultation amongst the partnership members. After due consultation and depending on the nature of the misdemeanour the co coordinator will view the matter  and solicit another opinion. The decision of the Administrator will be final in this regard.

Visitors

We welcome visitors to come and meet our staff, students and to generally, observe our operations. Your suggestions and comments will be very much appreciated, and you can be rest assured that it will  be  given  due  consideration.    However,  visitors  are  kindly  requested  to  make  prior arrangements with the Administrator so that they can be properly received and shown around.
