Admission to the Institute is open to all Muslim girls and boys who are 5 years of age or older. The process of admissions is fairly simple and straightforward and basically involves filling out an enrollment form, and paying the appropriate fees.
Parents must please remember that we function under considerable financial constraints. On the other hand our admission policy is extremely flexible. As part of a community outreach and development programme we have made the Institute accessible to all. Not only those who are financially challenged, but also those who require remedial attention. We have at our disposal specialists who work with those whose vision and hearing is slightly impaired. Those who wish to enroll their child/dren are required to read the Handbook of the Institute and sign the Agreement. Prospective students will then be interviewed, assessed and placed in the appropriate class. The Administrator has the right to refuse admission to any applicant, but will explain to the parents the reasons for his/her decision.
The Administrator will have the ultimate authority of deciding the class and level in which the student should be placed.
Fees
The madrasah fees are as follows:
- R200.00 per month for one learner.
- R350.00 per month for two learners.
- R480.00 per month for three learners.
- R600.00 per month for four learners.
The above fee structure covers tuition fees, all course material must be purchased by the parent. Quite a number of our learners can also not afford to pay either the entire amount, or not at all. Where parents feel the need to speak to the administrator or co-ordinator concerning this issue, do not hesitate to arrange an appointment. It is our stated policy and duty to provide our children with equal opportunity and quality education. This is a duty imposed by law and the shari’a. We would also like you to commit yourself to settle the fees upon registration and at the beginning of each month. We kindly request you to cooperate with us in this manner.
Texts and supplies
The Madrasah will endeavour to provide resource materials, namely photo copies of lessons needed for instruction and study purposes. We request parents to ensure that these notes and material are kept neat and tidy. A flip file is usually ideal for this purpose along with a ring file. Students are also expected to have their own supplies such as note books, pencils, pens, colouring crayons in the case of grade 1, 2 and 3. The Madrasah will also from time to time require students of all grades to purchase some additional materials and text books which will be made available at a reasonable cost.
